About Ashley Ivy

Ashley Ivy is a speech-language pathologist with advanced training in dementia care and caregiver support. She holds a Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and maintains national certification through the American Speech Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) with her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).

Ashley has spent most of her professional career working in long-term care, alongside individuals living with dementia and the families who loved them. Through this work, she has witnessed firsthand how dementia reshapes lives, relationships, and identities, and how caregivers are often left to navigate it with far too little honesty or support.

Her approach blends clinical expertise with compassion, humor, and directness, because she believes caregivers deserve real guidance, not watered-down explanations or polished platitudes.

Outside of her professional life, Ashley is an extremely proud mother to her son, Preston, and a devoted animal lover. Her dogs have often worked alongside her over the years, becoming quiet sources of comfort, connection, and unexpected joy in dementia care settings.

Born and raised in Louisiana, Ashley now resides in Texas and remains deeply committed to advocating for people who cannot always advocate for themselves, something she has done instinctively for as long as she can remember.

I F’n Hate Dementia is her way of standing beside caregivers in the hardest moments of the journey, with clarity, empathy, and the reminder that they are not alone.
